Minimum Requirement:

  • 8 Years of operations experience in Refinery with 3 years of experience in supervisory level.
  • Able to generate reportsand use customized software.
  • Strong leadershi pskills,quick trouble shooting skills,decisiveness, sharp analytical and computer skills.
  • Ability to interact and coordinate positively within & other departments in a direct and professional manner.

 

 

Job Scope:

Supervise and control the operation of assigned units, implement daily instructions to meet the production targets and take appropriate decisions in the event of plant emergency. Provide support, leadership, and direction to his shift crew regarding daily operational activities.

 

1.   Superviseandcontroltheactivitiesofallassignedunits,co-ordinatewith Maintenance,laboratoryandSafety&Firepersonneltoaccomplishthe task.         Performs   supervisory   functions   at   the   level   established   by Managementfortheposition.Implementsthedaily instructionstomeet production targets.

 

2.Executestrategies,implementdaily/standing instructions,expeditejobs, ensureplantrunssmoothly,efficiently,safely,andprofitably tomeet Operationslook-ahead objectives.Ensurecrewfollows alldepartmentand refinerypolicies and procedure.  Conduct dailysafetyand start ofshift meetingswithhiscrew.Setdailyprioritiesforcrewandfollowuptoensure completion.

 

3.   Lead a team of operating personnel in shift.  Ensure all operating personnelof hisshiftcreware available.Utilizesavailableresourcesto reduceovertimegeneration. Preparetime sheetsand unplanned overtime. Justifiesovertime.Reviewtheleave applicationof thesubordinatebasedon theleaveplanandforwardto Operations Superintendent for approval.Arrangessuitable covershouldabsenteeismoccur.  Takeovershiftfromout goingShift Supervisorwithdetailsofany operationalirregularitiesorchangesmade duringpreviousshift.Handsovershiftwithcompletedsupervisorlogbook in   an   orderly   and   effective   manner   to   incoming   Shift   Supervisor highlighting whathaschanged,whathasbeendoneandwhatneedstobe followed up on.

4.   Read   all   logs   and   instructions   from   previous   shift   and   all   future requirementswithrespecttoproductionplanning.Use RISandLIMStoensureconformity andtoissueworkpermits. Communicate withshiftcontroller,otherareashiftsupervisorsandpaneloperators to identifyconcerns.  Communicate with field personnel to ensure all identified concernsfromthefieldareaddressed;explainmaintenance activitiesfortheday andwhatisexpectedofthem.Follow-uponmaintenance activities and correctiveactions foroff-specanalysis.

 

5.   Shiftsupervisorisin-chargeofhissectionintheshifts.Heisresponsible forhandlingalltypesofemergenciesofhissectionwhichmay include tripping  of  an  equipment,  gas  or  hydrocarbon  leak,  fire  and  natural calamities(like earthquake,typhoons,highwindetc).He isaccountable for making anappropriateandpromptdecisiontosavethecorporationassets, “associatedemployees&neighboring residentslives”andensuring on spec-production allthe time.

 

6.   Attendsdailyshiftmeetingheadedbyshiftcontroller.Putforwardallthe concernsrelatedtosafety,processandmaintenance.Requestfor support requiredforurgentandmustdo jobs.Basedonthestatuscriticality, priorities are revaluated.Prepares dailysummaryreports.

 

7.   Foranyincident,fire,injuryoraccident(includingmotorvehicle)that happens during the shift, online safety incident reports are prepared. Ensurescompliancebysubordinatepersonnelwithallsafety andfire regulations,personalprotectiveequipmentasperthe company’sRefinery safety procedures, carryout weekly fire alarm testing, ensure good housekeepingin theunits, ensurethat flaringand sloppingis minimized.

 

8.   Initiatemaintenancerequests/malfunctionnotificationsinSAPforall routine,non-routineandemergency repairs.Monitortheprogressofthe maintenance work carriedoutonoperating,shutdownandstartupunits. Approve work permits for maintenance related activities asper PTW (Permittowork)procedure.Playactiveroleduring Turnaroundtosafely handovertheunittomaintenance,safely replacethecatalystofthereactors and safestart-up after completion.

 

9.   Takespredictive & correctiveactionstoavoidunittripping/shutdown.Identifiesday-to-day problems and suggestssuitable solutions to Asst. Manager.  Use analytical trouble shooting skillstoquicklyandaccuratelypinpointthesourceoftheprobleminorder tominimizethenegativeconsequences.Reviewoperating data,trends, monitorsgeneraloperationalandmaintenanceactivities,onadaily basisto pre-emptproblemsandtoidentify the process deviations, which can leads to product off-spec and equipment damage. Initiate corrective actiontomaintain theunitsatoptimumlevel.Reviewlaboratory daily resultstoensurethat productsmeetspecifications.Ensurelabupdateisdoneondaily basisand informs theAPCsection if anyproblem is observed.

 

10. Train Qatari developees and assist them to take independent charge. Prepare annual leave plan of the employees. Give feedback to Operations Superintendent of the high performing employees during annual performance rating review. Bring forward the difficulties faced by the shift crew and report to Operations superintendent / Asst. Manager
