Job Scope

The Head of Engineering Services is responsible for the work output of the CAD Designers, Draftsmen, GIS Analysts and Land Surveyors in providing efficient Drawings, Survey, GIS and Asset Tagging Engineering Services for the Industrial Cities (RLC, MIC and DCA).

Job Accountabilities

  1. Supervises the CAD, GIS, Survey and Engineering Asset tag numbering activity as a Head focal point. And assure control of the Engineering Services division work output for cost effective, timely, efficient functioning and supporting various department needs of QP-VI Industrial Cities (RLC, MIC and DCA).
  2. Provides technical guidance & instruction for developing design drawings, Conceptual design drawings, Sketch drawings, typical drawings, Standard's & Control drawings, Consolidate As-built plan drawings, Master As-built drawings and maintain drawings as required for various uses in QP-VI Industrial Cities.
  3. Assure adequate control for Topographical Land Survey, As-built survey, Breakwater & Berth capping beam survey monitoring works to protect the company's interest.
  4. Coordinating, developing, implementing, operating and maintaining the GIS system for use within QP-VI Industrial Cities. This includes, based on the requesters requirement to perform complex analysis on geospatial and tabular data and to provide users with GIS Maps, GIS application view access and mapping related Geo-data.
  5. Supervises the GIS Analysts & GIS Technicians to provide effective GIS services by continual updating of RLC, MIC & DCA Geo-databases. And to provide GIS Maps to Engineers and technical support to all VI GIS users.
  6. Supervises the CAD Designers and Draftsman for developing Design drawings, Conceptual drawings, Sketch drawings, Typical drawings, ES Standard's and Control drawings. Consolidate the project submittal plan drawings, Master As-built drawings and to maintain drawings as required for various usages in QP-VI.
  7. Supervises the Land Surveyors and Assistant Surveyors work for all land survey needs of RLC, MIC and DCA. The surveyors report their work accomplishment to the Lead and survey updates data to Draftsman for further updation of QP-VI as-built consolidated drawings and GIS Layers.
  8. To coordinate asset tag numbers request documents reviews based on Engineering Standard and Tag Generating System (TGS) with project and operation discipline engineers, project focal points & requesting contractors/end users. To follow-up and get the work completion in time on tag number allocation by CAD Draftsman after review by project engineers. To coordinate and follow-up with the company's -Engineering Technical services for revising the Asset Tagging Engineering Standard as per new requirements. To coordinate with ICT for the Development 'updates of DC Tag Generating System (TGS) through e-SDS and to administer as super user of the QP-VI RLC, MIC & DCA Tag Generating System.
  9. Participate in the preparation of conceptual studies and designs, Statement of Requirements and Scopes of Work for Infrastructure Projects. Maintain advanced technical knowledge in current GIS/CAD/GPS applications and theory & practice by attending advanced the training programs and workshops.
  10. Supervises and provides leadership to the engineers working and coordinating with him on a continuous basis to ensure a high level of efficiency and work standards. This includes organize, plan and coordinate the activities of his team of multidiscipline engineers and effectively manages all administrative functions related to his subordinates.

Minimum Requirements

  • Internationally recognized B.Tech or B.Sc Degree in Civil, GIS, Geology or Geomatics Engineering. Higher education supporting the position will be a plus.
  • Minimum 15 years multi-disciplinary wide ranging experience in, and supervision of CAD, GIS and Survey works out of which at least 5 years shall be in an Oil and Gas Related industry.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the principles, practices and advanced techniques of ESRI GIS, Trimble GPS, AutoCAD and software like Visual Basic, MS-Access, SQL. Knowledge of Hardware, software, and communications components, needed to support and integrate, CADD, Map Publishing and data processing capabilities, and of graphic data input and output methods including digitizing, scanning, file interchange formats, Coordinates Transformations, plotting and printing, is preferable.
  • Good multi-disciplinary leadership, project management and supervisory skill are essential with good problem-solving skills and initiative and engineering aptitude. Exposure to international experience and appreciation of cultural sensitivities.
  • Excellent oral and written English combined with strong report writing, presentation skills. Capable of working under tight deadlines drawing upon the project management and time management skills.
